iCircle Services - Supporting Individual Choice and Empowerment
September 2013

Issue #31

Message from the Board

Greetings! It is hard to believe that fall is in the air and kids are officially back to school!  We have had a busy summer as we continue to work on developing the framework for both the DISCO and MLTC plans for iCircle.  We have held three focus groups so far with families and individuals in Syracuse, Binghamton, and Rochester to gather valuable feedback about what will be important to them as we implement and manage a DISCO. We thank all those who have participated for sharing their thoughts, stories, and recommendations.   We have several more focus groups to go over the next three weeks and look forward to meeting with those individuals and families.

We continue to wait for OPWDD to release the final RFA and any new updates regarding the transition to managed care.  However, the momentum has not stopped across our region.   We are extremely proud of the continued collaboration among providers in our network and the innovation, creativity and communication has been impressive.

Thank you for staying engaged and involved as we continue on this path.   We look forward to what the fall will bring.  We wish the best of luck to you for a great school year ahead.
