iCircle Services - Supporting Individual Choice and Empowerment
November 2013

iCircle's
Community Connection

Issue #40

Message from the Board

On Friday, November 1st, representatives from iCircle Services attended the Finger Lakes Family Support Services Advisory Council conference on “Managed Care Planning for Your Loved One with Special Needs” held at the Radisson Hotel in Rochester, NY. The conference was attended by approximately 75 families. Gerald Huber, the Deputy Commissioner of the Division of Person-Centered Supports for OPWDD, presented information to families on the change to managed care. He also indicated that the first enrollment for DISCOs will begin in the 4th quarter of 2014. Sy Zielinski, iCircle Board Member, had the opportunity to present information about iCircle Services and was able to answer questions from families about iCircle’s philosophy, network development, community participation and how the changes will affect them. Overall, it was another great opportunity for iCircle to connect and share with families about our network, and we look forward to participating in more of these educational events in the future. Please let us know if you would be interested in having us present to families in your area.
