Community Connection

Message from the Board

Welcome to the 50th issue of iCircle’s Community Connection Newsletter!  You may notice a new look for iCircle.   As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we have undergone a rebrand of iCircle to better align with our mission and intended future service offerings. As a reminder, iCircle’s goal is to be a licensed Medicaid managed care organization offering two distinct plans; a NYS DOH approved managed long-term care (MLTC) plan and an OPWDD approved DISCO.  We have further explained the new brand in an article below.

iCircle continues to work on network development for both the MLTC and DISCO.  We continue to travel around our 22-county region meeting with community-based service providers to learn everything can about what is available for our future members.   We are really impressed by and proud of the variety of care options for people in our region.   We have spent time not only learning about and from OPWDD approved providers, but from a broad range of community organizations that are making a huge impact in the lives of  people in our community.  We welcome these organizations as part of the iCircle family and thank them for all they do to help people.

We look forward to keeping our network of support informed as we continue on our path of approval for an MLTC and DISCO!

Stay Warm and Stay Safe!

Our New Look!

iCircle believes in providing a comprehensive, accessible, and trusted system of Medicaid managed care. It is our goal to provide easy, local, and personalized access to care through an experienced network of quality community-based care providers.   While we are intending to apply and respond to the RFA for OPWDD upon release, we currently are focused on working with DOH to offer a managed long-term care plan. With this, it was apparent that we had to reexamine our brand to better align with our new comprehensive model of care for the community.

The new brand positions iCircle Services as the parent company. iCircle will offer two distinct plans of care, both with the goal to enrich the life of people who meet eligibility requirements.   Under the iCircle umbrella of care, each offering will have its own distinct brand identity.   We have developed a name for the pending MLTC plan: iCircle Care.   We are currently working on naming the pending DISCO plan, so stay tuned!

The new logo and mark symbolizes our approach and philosophy to serving future members. It represents a dimensional circle with an “I” that represents the individual member at the center of their care.   We wanted to elevate our passion and commitment to providing a personalized and local approach to serving our members, so we have developed a new tagline, “Hometown care, centered on you.”

We are continuing to develop and evolve the brand identity for iCircle, so you will continue to see enhancements and additions in the  coming weeks. We hope you enjoy the new look for iCircle and we look forward to your feedback.

OPWDD's Language Access Plan:

Diversity is an essential guiding principle for iCircle.   It is our belief that fair treatment, access, and opportunity for all individuals to quality care is of the utmost importance.   We wanted to highlight an initiative from OPWDD.

According the their website, OPWDD has created a Language Access Plan in an effort to provide full access to agency supports and services for people with limited English proficiency (LEP). In Executive Order No. 26, Governor Cuomo said “two and one-half million New Yorkers have limited-English proficiency, which means they do not speak English as their primary language and have limited ability to read, speak, write or understand English, thereby presenting potential barriers to accessing important government programs or services.”

The OPWDD Language Access Plan establishes a system to provide people with limited English proficiency access to agency programs and activities, including supports and services.
