iCircle Services - Supporting Individual Choice and Empowerment
August 2013

Issue #27

Message from the Board

iCircle has hosted three regional provider meetings in the past few weeks. These meetings were very engaging, and well attended by providers from across the network. The meetings gave an overview of accomplishments to date for iCircle and the status of the OPWDD DISCO application. We also shared the proposed regional definition and announced an important new service for iCircle. A copy of the presentation shared at the meetings is attached for your reference.

Based on recommendations from the State, iCircle has decided to apply to become a Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) agency. MLTC helps people who need more than 120 days of health and long-term care services, (such as home or adult care) and who are Medicaid eligible. Under the MLTC plan, members of iCircle will have greater choice and flexibility in obtaining needed services. The plan will pay for a large selection of health and social services. For example, the MLTC plan will cover things like: dental, home healthcare, skilled nursing facilities, DME, vision care, and non-emergent transportation, to name a few. Currently, NYS has mandatory enrollment in MLTC for downstate counties. It is important to note that Monroe and Onondaga counties will have mandatory enrollment by December 2013. iCircle is working with strategic partners on the MLTC application and network development.

What does this mean for providers in our network? MLTC will be an option available for the aging families of the people you are currently serving. iCircle’ s goal is to streamline the care for individuals with developmental disabilities and their aging caregivers who may qualify for MLTC services. iCircle plans to have the application submitted in August. If you are a potential provider of service for MLTC, or know of agencies who may be interested in joining our network, please reach out to us at info@icirclecny.org or contact us at 1-855-775-3778. We are always available for discussions and to answer any questions you may have. Thank you to all the providers who attended the meetings.

Provider Survey Closes Tomorrow

Don’t forget to submit your responses for the Provider Feedback Survey! The deadline is tomorrow, August 9th, and we would like to have input from all of our iCircle Network Providers. We value your input as we move forward with the development of iCircle. and would like to know what is important to you as a provider. The overall results will be shared in next week’s issue of Provider Network News. We appreciate all who have responded so far.

Communication with the People we Serve

iCircle is in the process of setting up focus groups across our region with individuals and families served by our provider agencies. These focus groups will take place at the end of August and the results will be shared with the network in mid-September. These focus groups will provide additional information that will help us to finalize the development of the iCircle DISCO, as well as, allow us to network with individuals and families who may have an interest in serving on iCircle’s advisory councils. We value the feedback from our prospective members and would like to thank all of our providers in advance, for assisting with participation.
